About us
We are a private non-profit research and knowledge transfer institute dedicated to both language and culture mediation and to its study. This sees us working in a highly topical domain rooted in a long tradition of education and research. As such, our institute assumes a novel position within the scientific landscape.
Building on this foundation, we are dedicated to creating sustainable research infrastructures that ensure open access to scientific knowledge, and to fostering its transfer across the various fields of language and culture mediation. This aligns with our mission to make the wealth of experience in translatology accessible to society at large.
As a non-profit organisation, we are a reliable partner for other non-profit and public institutions, as well as for commercial actors adhering to Open Science principles. From consulting and training to practical case studies and science communication, we draw on both our practical and theoretical experience, as well as that of our network, to seamlessly integrate language and culture mediation into our clients’ organisations.
What makes us us

A holistic view
We bring a holistic perspective of humanities and technological expertise to the table, driving innovation at the intersection of these two domains. Our expertise will help you navigate the multilingual and multicultural challenges as well as possibilities of a globalised and digitised present and future.

Strong networks
We are linked to a broad academic and practice network that offers a wide range of opportunities for co-operation. We can give you answers and ask productive questions at a scientific level and can rely on our partners for additional perspectives on the task at hand.
Partners
We are part of Global FrameNet, a research network that is dedicated to the development of multilingual knowledge graphs based on cognitive and cultural schemas, and to their applications in areas such as terminology or Natural Language Processing (NLP).
We are actively collaborating with Translate Science, a community of interest dedicated to enhancing international knowledge exchange by advocating for multilingualism in science. We advise the initiative on strategic and content-related matters and participate in the development of information resources.
